We're "building" inventory for 2011!

This year was very good for us and as a result we needed to add to the inventory.

So we did some top breedings and are now awaiting nine cria due starting next May. This is going to be a dynamite group of cria.

At this time we are keeping our dams on the sales list so if you're in the market for a top quality proven female, bred to Champion herdsire, give us a good look.

Children & alpacas...just perfect!

Second string guardians
Panorama began in 1998 as a retirement project. The Piepers, Darrell & Barbara, started the clearing of land, drilling the well, placing pasture fencing, developing underground irrigation, etc. all with our own four hands and the occasional rental machine. In the process we became healthier and smarter, always planning for the next stage and never, never done.

The physical layout is designed and engineered to simplify the routine of handling the alpacas. Our barn is a must see conversation piece which we literally share with our lovely herd...European style. The many visitors to Panorama come with cameras, notepads and questions and you are invited to do the same. All it takes is a phone call.

In the mid nineties, long before we knew where we were going to settle, we purchased our original alpacas in Colorado and agisted for many years. It was a thrill to finally bring our fledgling herd "home" to this gorgeous piece of Central Oregon and to get on with the fun of cria. Babies and fleece…lots to learn! The fiber these amazing animals produce is phenomenal. The industry is constantly searching for new uses for this valuable product and so are we.

We've had a very good year; sales of alpacas and our designer rugs have been most encouraging, enough so that we are currently breeding for an outstanding crop of cria in 2011. This year's three babes show great promise and we're breeding for more. We've discovered that a herd size of 25 is just perfect for us. The ranch and pastures are still evolving so keeping a small, elegant herd makes our lifestyle quite do-able.

By being careful in selecting genetics we have developed a herd of top alpacas that we are comfortable in presenting to you. These are all foundation caliber alpacas...great potential for upgrading your herd so please take a good look at the sales list, all prices are tailored for the current economy. If you're a beginner we'll hold your hand through the process of becoming an alpaca owner and breeder. We're always available with support and guarantees. Come for a visit, get your hands on our alpacas to better understand density, crimp, conformation, and above all, disposition. An easy alpaca is a treasure.

You'll meet Scott, Julie and granddaughter Meghan who have joined us in this "project." When you drive in you'll be greeted by our four guardian Great Pyrenees and a bunch or hard working (?) barn cats. All in all, this is a great spot...we can't imagine doing anything else.

Purchases from $5000 + may be paid in two interest free installments within one year. Under $5000, payment in full is required.
