Fossil Ridge's Special K

Huacaya, Open (Female), Proven | Light Fawn

AOA# 31621748   D.O.B. 7/25/2009 (16 yrs) , Full Peruvian

Sire:
Fossil Ridge's Rumaki
| AOA# 1025262  | Beige  |
Rumaki adds to his long list of top finishes by winning the Reserve Color Championship and the blue ribbon in the Light Fawn/Beige Adult Male class at the 2006 MOPACA halter show. Judge Jude Anderson stated that Rumaki “has excellent confirmation, with a broad chest and strong bone and he has a fleece to match. I placed this male over the other males in this class for his fineness”. Rumaki was awarded the 2006 MOPCA Reserve Color Championship in the ultra-tough competition of this level 4 show, winning over some of the very best light fawn and beige alpacas in the industry today. Judge Anderson stated that it was a true compliment for this two-year-old male to win the Reserve Color Championship over so many excellent yearling light fawn-beige male alpacas.

Rumaki is a son of the well know Hall of Fame Herdsire, Peruvian Royal Fawn. Co-owned by Double”O”Good Alpacas and Maple Brook Alpacas. His awesome genetics do not end there; his Dam Peruvian Tanya is also dam to Peruvian Lancaster. Lancaster, co-owned by AlpacaStock, Aspenwood Alpacas, and Chatham Alpacas, is a 6X color champion including the 2003 AOBA Nationals - Fawn Reserve Color Champion.

Rumaki has a sturdy frame with excellent bone density. His lustrous beige fiber is very fine, remaining less than 20 micron at age 2. He has uniform crimp, density, and excellent staple length. Rumaki is the complete package.

Fossil Ridge's Bit-O-Honey
| AOA# 30473188  | White  |
ere is a girl that has the total package and out of GREAT genetics! Bit-O-Honey has just a touch of fawn in the top of her blanket but enough that places her in the multi class when she is shown. Bit-O-Honey has placed first in every show ever entered. At the 2007 TXOLAN Spectacular judged by Amy Bliss-Miller. Judge Miller summed it up by saying "this is a No Brainer, these other girls never had a chance. This girl could compete very well in the white class if it were not for her fawn spot." At the 2006 Mid-America Alpaca show last October, Bit-O-Honey took first place with the judge's comments "that she is the total package".

Bit-O-Honey has the genetics too... her sire is Aussie Blaze of Glory who is out of Peruvian Presidio (his sire) and PPeruvian Caligula (his grand sire) - on her mom side, Feliz is out of PPeruvian Felix (her sire) and grandfather PPeruvian El Mousachio. How can you get better than this!

Bit-O-Honey has awesome bundling, long staple length, fineness, excellent bone density, everyting you are looking for in a super elite female.

Bit-O-Honey delivered a twin in looks to Special K... he is AMAZING! Take a look at what she produced with the same breeding last year - Special K is one of the nicest cria I have seen.

Description

Special K is a daughter of Fossil Ridge Rumaki (PPeruvian Royal Fawn son) many awards to his name and Fossil Ridge's Bit-O-Honey who is a Peruvian Presidio grand daughter. The pairing of these two criated a beautiful little girl that has some of the nicest fleece. When we saw her as juvie, we knew she had great potential.

In her first spin off competition with her cria fleece -- she received 4th because it was SO DENSE, long, and crimpy that it was difficult to pull apart to prep for spinning - their words! The judge then went on to say it was BEAUTIFUL fiber and would make lots of wonderful yarn! Hmmm, love the compliments -- even if the placement didn't reflect them! In her second spin-off with her cria fleece the comment was "gorgeous!" Since then, as you can see from her record, Special K has shown the judges that she has the fiber that is a joy to see and feel. Still showing as a 2 year old, K is garnering PURPLE ribbons, showing that she had 'staying' power into her maturity.

K was bred to Dark Secret to produce a true black male with buttery soft fiber! This male, Black Maelstrom, went on to win 13 champion banners.

We then bred her to 19x true black Jacob Black to produce multiple champion DRG male Truthsayer!
