Our Marko is absolutely gorgeous, and we think he has valuable depth of genotype AND phenotype.

Marko has silky, consistent pencilled black locks to the skin with gorgeous luster.
He has a wonderful wedge-shaped head complete with heavy top-knot and beard that says Density!

The judges at the West Coast Alpaca show (Wade Gease and Wini LaBrecque--THEY know a thing or 2 about suris,...) LOVED him and awarded him 2 halter championships, including the prestigious Champion Processing-Length ...

Suri, Female, Proven, True Black, 5/8 Peruvian, 1/8 Chilean
ARI# 31931458 | DOB: 8/10/2012
Salem is a beautiful female with excellent fiber and conformation. She has done well in the shows with two blue ribbons at two shows. Her luster is stunning and she has had beautiful locks that develop after shearing. She has Accoyo out of both her dam's and sire's line. She has excellent fiber statistics below 20 microns and a 97% comfort factor...terrific for black! She has a cute personality and would be a wonderful farm ambassador as she loves to greet people and eat treats.

Salem's dam...

Description

While we feel a little deja vu with this guy - given our first baby of the year prior season was a black male, also a distant line breed on Kobe.

This guy's dam is by GLR Arappaho - a Shavano son and Sierra Bonita's Macgyver Synergy and on her dam's side, Champion Summer Solstice Hayven by Gianni & Kobe also Milagro. Pedigrees trace back to oldies but greats Macgyver, Mahogony Prince, Uribe.

His sire was our dark colored, go-to stud of the season - So Cal Greystone's Marko who was sired by Prince Greystone. His dam by Sirius black also has Kobe in her lineage. Marko according to Cindy Harris of Alpacas at Windy Hill, has "silky, consistent penciled black locks to the skin with gorgeous luster. He has a wonderful wedge-shaped head complete with heavy top-knot and beard that says Density! The judges at the West Coast Alpaca show (Wade Gease and Wini LaBrecque--THEY know a thing or 2 about suris,...) LOVED him and awarded him 2 halter championships, including the prestigious Champion Processing-Length Suri--for ALL shorn suris--male and female"

Matador was born about two weeks early - However, others bred at the same time had their babies 3 to 4 weeks later. We are not sure if the fact that he was a bit floppy in the beginning is why his dam didn't get the supply of milk he needed, but he had to be supplemented. Lets just say he is looking to be worth our effort! His fleece is fine with thin individual lock structure and he has a heavy beard with great leg coverage to his toes. When he walks that swaying swish of fleece you have to witness in it's movement is really quite lovely - Reviewing his lineage reminds me why we see potential. We participated in the Suri Herd Improvement Program that is meant for alpacas over 1 year of age, we asked a quick evaluation and immediate response was, with the organized lock structure present, wait and watch this guy!

We haven't registered him yet - so, his name is not quite official. We received suggestions of Marko "polo" or Marko Spitz as he may be the next great swimmer. Watch his video as he figured out a great way to keep cool in our hot summer.

**If interested his mom is now offered for sale at an amazingly low price. Let us know if you want more info or would like to see her. She is extremely sweet, loves carrots, sprinklers and pool time.
