We have bumped up Firecracker's stud fee because we have three years of offspring on the ground, and we've now gotten biopsy results and three years of histogram tests on his first offspring - and results have not disappointed! See the description for "Salt River's Caleb" for all the details!

Firecracker's density test - at 3.5 years of age - was 83 follicles per sq mm, he has an S/P ratio of 14:1, and a micron spread between primaries and secondaries of only 7. At six years of age, Firecr...

Description

We don't offer many animals for sale, and we definitely don't offer many males for sale - they have to be top of the line! Salt River's Caleb meets all the hurdles:

2017 histogram AFD (30 mos of age) - shoulder, side, hip respectively: 22.2, 23.4, 23.5 - very uniform and holding his fineness!

2017 biopsy results - Density 64.25; S/P 11.4; Micron spread 7.1 - high quality biopsy results!

2017 fleece weight - blanket was 4.45 lbs, blanket and neck 5.55 lbs - weight when taking micron and staple length into account is a big deal for us - we believe that alpacas need to pay their way on the farm! This is an outstanding fleece weight when taking into account his micron!

EPDs - Caleb scores in the top 10% of all Suri males for AFD.

Linaege - Sire's side comes from the Crown Royale line - Jim Barker was careful not to over-breed Crown Royale and as such, these are limited genetics. Dam's side comes from the White Knight line - a male specifically chosen by Julie Skinner but a male that was little used. White Knight had a micron count of 20 at age 14 when he passed away! On the maternal side of his genetics, the females come from Latah Creek and Alpaca Breeding Company. All of these breeding programs were top of the line, so it's no surprise that Caleb has turned out to be the lovely male he is!

Disposition - easy to handle, walks well on a lead, gets along with other males.

Conformation - Per his S.H.I.P. evaluation, Caleb scored primarily 5s with one 4.5. Pretty darn good!

Since Caleb is related to both our herdsire and dam, and because we have used his herdsire extensively in our herd, we are offering Caleb at a very reasonable price of $3,000!
