Mohana means “bewitching” and she certainly is! Mohana is a large, robust dam with correct phenotype and structure. Her earlier fleeces were dense and soft with generous, crimpy bundles. Mohana has gorgeous grey eyes with dark eyeliner. Just beautiful!
Mohana hails from the bloodlines of Peruvian Omar and Peruvian Inti Sapa (Derwydd) whose dam is black, 6Peruvian Cucurucho. Mohana's sire, Inti Sapa was just under 2 years of age when he settled his first female. He has several robust daughters being bred early so fertility is in her genes!
Mohana is a wonderful mother with colostrum and milk ready and waiting with each cria. Her first son, Maximilion had long, shiny ultra-fine fleece. Her second son, Spirit of Don Quijote has made the cut to junior herdsire and has settled his first dam, a maiden due this fall. The cria currently at her side is a gorgeous male as well. At only 2 days old we can see that "Mucho Dinero" is carrying Protege's signature high-frequency crimp with extreme brightness. He's solidly boned, just as we'd expect out of Mohana and included in this package. All of her offspring to date have maintained fineness of fleece. Update 6/23- scissor trimmed the tips from Dinero's fleece and he is just loaded with spring curls under there! He's already tipped the scales at 30+ lbs, passed his herdmate by who was 2 weeks older and weighed more at birth. Mohana's crias are always very robust!
Mohana has a pleasant personality but is definitely the alpha female in this herd! She is gentle by nature and easily handled but not one to be pushed around by the other dams. Tall and stately, she is one that stands out from the crowd!

We were very pleased with Mohana's 5th place win in the 2008 AOBA Fiber to Fashion fleece show. Judge, Tim Lavan judged Mohana against tough competition from Magical Farms, Mile High Alpacas, and Hummingherd Alpacas.
