Belmonte's Hamilton rates a place in our herd as a herdsire, having captured two blue ribbons and a reserve color championship on his first show tour in 2007at eight-nine months of age. In 2008 he captured two more blues, a color and a reserve color championship. Hammie’s skin was biopsied at just shy of 3 years of age. He demonstates level 2 of 4 glands which should be associated with luster and fiber quality. The scan shows small tight symmetrical cluster formation. Hammie has a S/P ratio of 8.75 to 1. The density is 55.25 follicles per SQ MM of skin. Hammie shows 80% secondary medullated fibers. One hundred secondary fibers averaged 21.5 microns while 50 primary fibers averaged 31.9 microns. This equates to a micron variation of 10.4 microns. His density, cluster symmetry and fineness of secondary fibers are difinite strong points. His fleece has been certified sorted in 2011 and 2012 with each year grading 2.6# as hwr2.
