Bidding Info

Look at Dirk's first beautiful criation chosen by Premier Alpacas of the Palouse! Two more cria are on the ground since fall 2012 at Rockford Bay and they just came for another breeding. Sweet Pines Alpacas has also bred to him for a 2013 cria. THANK YOU!

Dirk at 4 years old continues to hold a REALLY NICE histogram:
AFD 20.9 SD 4.3 CV 20.4 CF 96.9 Curve 43 Staple 90mm
AFD 19.3 SD 3.8 CV 19.9 CF 98.8 Curve 44.9 Staple 100mm sheared 7.4 lbs. at 3 years.

With genetics from Guellermo, Michelangelo, Onyx de Mico, Hemingway, Caligula, and Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus, WHEW!, how could you not be good? As soon as he was born it was apparent Dirk had a remarkable fleece. It's among the best we've produced thus far out of one of our best dams, Kenzie, and sire Accoyo America Diomedes, a magnificent stud. Kenzie brings lots of color with her lineage.

Diomedes seems to pass on not only his gorgeous head and his fabulous fleece, but an attitude that says "I'm tops!" Dirk has a very upright presence and a compact, boxy build along with that beautiful head of his papa. His mama is a looker too! Dirk is a gentleman with the ladies and very easy to handle for his owners.

His fleece is very bright with tight crimp and a superb yearling and 2-yr. histogram. Bundles of low micron, low amplitude, high frequency crimp. Judge Jill McLeod gave him a good hard look and commented several times on the consistency of his fleece on shoulder, midside, and hip and as she placed him first in a competitive halter class at Northwest Alpaca Showcase 2010. CONSISTENCY (or UNIFORMITY) is what we need to see in our fleeces. Dirk's got it.

Robyn Kuhl sorted our fiber at shearing and among her comments noted that he scored 8 in brightness, 9 in uniformity, 8 in density, with 8 crimps per inch in the blanket and 10 in the neck, and a good secondary to primary ratio. UNIFORMITY is that word we all want to describe our alpaca fleece.

If you want to leave your girl here for two or three months along with ultrasounds by Dr. Tibary at WSU, add $350 which covers boarding, 6 ultrasounds (value $185, with transport to/from ultrasounds included). To insure your girl's health and safety, she will be in a quarantined pasture with shelter, separate from our herd and other boarding animals.

Thank you to Premier Alpacas of the Palouse, Rockford Bay Ranch, Sweet Pines Alpacas, and for Rockford for coming back for more this year, all choosing Dirk for breedings. We would be interested in breeding swaps with your herdsires too!
