Dusty moved to his new home in California -- Alpacas of Anza Valley -- and garnered two more ribbons before settling into his breeding career. Now, he has several nice looking cria on the ground.

AutumnSuns Silver Dustdevil is clearly an exceptional cria with show prospects. His dam and sire have been proven to pass desirable conformation and fiber characteristics to their offspring. Our “Dusty” is another example of this success. At birth, it was evident that this boy had the desired coverage and crimp that is hard to come by in a grey alpaca. On top of that, the lustrous shine and silky softness of his fleece is a surprising pleasure to the senses. When farm visitors touch him, they utter audible sighs and exclaim how soft he is. With his pleasant personality inherited from his dam, Dusty protests his hugs with some hums and squirms but is true gentleman in his restraint.

In addition to his personality, his dam Lola has gifted him with her shine, density and crimp. Dusty is a beautifully consistent medium grey with the desired white tuxedo markings on his face and chest and no spots of other colors on his blanket. His sire is Imaginary Farm’s Monroe, fantastic son of Lanark’s Silver Charm, who is standing stud at Lavender Fields Alpacas.

We are very confident that this boy will make a name for himself in the show ring! He placed well in a competitive grey class for the 2007 GWAS, with the judge commenting on his shine and consistency. He placed 1st in the ABR Rocky Mountain Fleece Harvest Spin-Off competition, despite the tangled tui tips and debris common in cria blankets. He placed 2nd in the ABR Fall Festival Full Fleece Yearling Grey Halter out of a class of 10 that included some challenging competitors. The 1st place and Grand Champion alpaca was the incredible Deacon Grey from Mile High Alpacas. And, Dusty placed above a KPR Challenger son, which shows that Dusty is also an all-around package that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the 'big boys.'
