OFFERED FOR LEASE - Rosie is the lovely, maroon daughter of Ameripaca's Lucille and the late, great multi-champion pure Allianza rose grey stud, 5Peruvian Quechua. She is now proudly owned by Close-Knit Alpacas.
Rosie is a beautiful dam with that coveted, bright MAROON color so many breeders seek out for the grey genetics that are believed to be linked to maroons. With her sire a striking, deep and dense dark rose grey, Rosie undoubtedly carries grey in her genes and has now delivered THREE ... |

Darling Divinity, aka "Divinity," came into the world a real fighter, and with help and guidance from Divine Love, for sure. Only her head and neck emerged, with both front feet and legs still way back and inside her dam. I had to leave the farm on errands that day, but received a call on my cell phone & headed straight back. But I was forty minutes away. Ouch. I called my neighbor and asked her to please go over and see if there was anything she could do with my friend/farm sitter to help the situation in the meantime. I prayed in the truck the whole way as I drove back.
There was no way this little girl could fit through the birth canal with her forelegs all the way back. I am soooo grateful for my relationship and understanding of God. Outwardly, humanly, all I could say to myself was "I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to do this. I don't know how on earth I'm going to be able to handle this. Okay, God, take over."
SO, I gloved & lubed up & went in after each foot, carefully cupping each foot, then unfolding each front leg to free up her shoulders, making it possible for her dam to push while I pulled so we could deliver this darling wonder girl out into the world.
My neighbor, Bonnie, was there comforting Rosie through the ordeal. When the vet at Cornell said over the phone to watch for signs of brain damage because of the length of time she was in the birth canal before delivery was completed, when I hung up the phone and declared we would NOT have any thoughts or expectations of "damages" to such a perfect idea of Divine Love, Bonnie piped up, 'And her name is DIVINITY!" So it is...
Darling Divinity has shown absolutely zero signs of any sort of abnormality or challenge at all. She has grown, has a lovely fleece & is doing great!
