Update: We now have Rendezvous crias on the ground, and they are looking great. We are particularly wow'd by the consistent, crimpy structure he is putting on each and every one. Plus we are getting the color and fineness you would expect from this son of Rico Suave. Check back for cria pics soon!
Rendezvous just won a white male championship at 2.5 years old -- he just keeps getting better. And he comes by that trait honestly: His sire is Rico Suave, known for holding a very dense, consistent, 17 micron fleece into his later years, as well as for passing that lingering fineness on to his progeny. We love Rendezvous for his long staple length and high degree of consistency, both with regard to the structure of his fleece across his frame and the low micron difference between his primary and secondary fibers (biopsied by Dr. Norm Evans, his micron difference was just 5.6) He carries that fleece on a solid, well-proportioned frame.
We're using Rendezvous to improve on the staple length and size of our animals without compromising on fineness, and to produce finer color from our darker females. In fact color breeders should take a particularly close look at this white male. His sire Rico Suave produced colored offspring in three out of four breedings to colored dams. With that in mind, we've bred Rico to everything from white to true black!
