RDWD Juggernaut's Peruvian Black Onyx (16 Microns)
D.O.B. 9/25/2011 (1 yr)
Huacaya, Male, Unproven | True Black
Black Onyx is a true black male out of our 7X Color Champion Herdsire, Juggernaut. Juggernaut has been letting the dam's color pass through and Onyx is no exception. His dam is our true black foundation female, Gotta Have Chocolate.
This handsome looking Full Peruvian male boasts 1/8 Accoyo genetics from the well known Full Accoyo herdsire, Accoyo Grandmaster! Other lineage includes Altiplano Gold, and Peruvian Leah (a champion producer and a champion herself!)
Onyx's conformation is good, with a correct bite, solid frame, and good balance. His fleece is bright, fine (16 microns) with a nice handle and crimp coming in at the skin. We do not see one white fiber in his fleece anywhere!
Onyx comes from Champion lineage!! His sire, Juggernaut, is our own 7X Champion herdsire, who is a very elite male. His siblings (all Juggernaut crias) are dominating the show ring as juvi's! His full sister, Shadow (TB), just took a 2nd Place Ribbon at the Buckeye Alpaca Show out of a class of 11! His 1/2 sister, Starlite (LB) took JUDGE'S CHOICE, Color Championship and a Blue Ribbon as a 6 month old juvi at the Buckeye Show (her 1st show) and 1/2 sister, Princess (LB), is now a 2X Reserve Champion. Wow, now that's impressive!
Onyx has one colorful background! His grand dam's pedigree has both Fawn and True Black. His grand sire boasts a pedigree with browns and fawns listed in his heritage. If you want color in your herd...this is the male for you! We believe that when bred correctly, he too could produce black cria!
Onyx is a nice male and has definite potential. With his genetics, this male will likely make a great herdsire for your herd! We already have Onyx's genetics since we own both his sire and dam therefore we are not going to use him. If you have a black or grey breeding program then Onyx may be the one for you.
Onyx is weaned and ready to go to his new home!
