We have been looking for a herdsire that would throw brown and fawn exclusively and have grand and abundant fleece. We had an opportunity to purchase a male who just fits the bill. His name is Pineway Alpacas' Terje. He has won 8 blue ribbons for his fleece, the last being the 2009 Alpacamania spinoff, for his 5th year fleece. His sire is PCA Spartacus, out of Peruvian Camilio and Hemingway. Spartacus was an award winner in his own right. Terje's dam also has Camilio as well as PCA Peruvian Microsoft in her background. The result of the pairing was fabulous award-winning fleece, good conformation, and huge strong bone. Terje is a large gentle giant who throws fine crias. We have three crias out of Terje this year, (2012), who all have dense fiber with great sheen, and really nice square heads. They should all three be show quality in the next year. We are rebreeding him to another three girls for 2013.
