This three time Reserve Champion was born on a Saturday morning during our first farm seminar, Silver Crown has a flair for the dramatic which is exhibited not only by his feisty personality but also by his dramatic silver gray coloring. LLuvia is offered exclusively by Close-Knit Alpacas via The Secret Meadow, "Where New Beginnings Are Born!" LLuvia sure will bring about a terrific new beginning for your farm...Let me show you how:
First off, let me explain about her name and what it means. LLuvia's an unusual name and according to LLuvia's owner, Michele, it is spanish for "rain." It seems she was given her name due to "a small patch of red fiber under her left eye that makes her look like she might be crying," says Michele.
LLuvia's dam, Aysen's Miss Fanshawe IMPQ98 is, as her name indicates, an import who has produced only silver and rose greys when bred to grey and she's of Chilean descent.
LLuvia's sire is an import, too, and his specific ancestry is unknown other than that he is from Peru where he was born to Peruvian alpacas. This stud has produced the rainbow in colors and maintained pretty much an even ratio of male to female offspring, LLuvia being his last one of record to be registered with the Alpaca Registry. This means you will get uncommon genetics with a purchase of LLuvia, and an infusion of important genetic hybrid vigor to your program....Oh, and LOTS of color!
"LLuvia comes from lines of both silver and rose grays, including a 3x silver grey winner" says Michele, "and is an asset to anyone's breeding program."
LLuvia has correct, strong conformation and a beautiful presence. She has a good bite and lovely head shape, too.
LLuvia's fleece has scrumptious, eye-appealing crimp, lovely loft and superb hand but, ooh-la-la it's her COLOR that one marvels at first. It truly is gorgeous! You will not be able to keep her fiber on the shelves, nor any yarn or other products made from her fleece, it is so pretty.
LLuvia has only delivered females. Her first, Summer Sunset, is registered as medium fawn. She "has her sire Captain Nemo's conformation and coverage," says Michele..."Her full sister, Cleopatra, was born next, in 2009 and is a beautiful medium rose grey!
