Sprite is the knockout daughter of the 2003 AOBA Nationals fawn color champion, MFI Monsanto. In 2003 alone, Monsanto won two other color championships, at MAPACA and the Virginia Classic. His elite fleece beat some of the best to take these top awards, and now his daughter has followed in his footsteps with her own first place finish at the 2011 MAPACA Jubilee Fleece Show! Sprite's dam, now deceased, was the beautiful 1994 Peruvian import, PPeruvian Sanccochay.

Description

Grandstander's Globetrotter (Trotter) is everything we could have hoped for! Pairing out best-quality Monsanto daughter with a stunning Accoyo/Allianza cross out of the Grand Master line, resulted in a truly exceptional boy!

Trotter has a boxy build with an enormous bone structure that he inherited from both his sire and his dam.

Trotter's beige fleece has everything going for it! Fineness, beautiful brightness, exceptional density and staple length, and medium-amplitude crimp! His fleece is well organized in distinct bundles, with exceptional head and leg coverage right down to his big-boned toes! Every judge who has handled his fleece also remarks on its consistency. His sire, PLF Peruvian Grandstander, has one of the densest fleeces measured by Dr. Norm Evans by skin biopsy, and is retaining his fineness at six and half years of age ... 20.5 microns! Trotter's fleece has the same elite characteristics of both his sire and dam, and he has matured into a beautiful young herdsire!

Trotter's fleece took second place in his first fleece show. The judge was very impressed with how bright his fleece is, and its soft handle. When we dropped it off with our fiber processor she just went ga ga over it! She simply could not believe how bright his unwashed fleece was, and how beautifully she could 'finger spin' a shiny strand of lace-weight yarn! Landmark Farm does not show in halter classes because of the expense, the stress on both the alpacas and their humans, and for bio-security concerns.

Trotter is quite a character. He is easy to handle for herd health and will sometimes come right up to you and practically beg for a vigorous neck scratch behind his fuzzy-tufted ears!

Plus, check out Trotter's "cover boy" photo when he was a cria, on the COVER of Alpacas Magazine Autumn 2013 issue!

Trotter is now breeding. Add this beautiful Grand Master line to your herd for an introductory fee of $500.

Update: Trotter got the job done and has his first cria on the way! Confirmed by ultrasound on the female 11/29/16.
