Far Away in a Galaxy Nearby, "Galaxy" was certainly a surprise package when she was born! Don't you know that Tripp Forstner had fun coming up with HER name! Actually, it suits her to a tee because her coloration is about as far out there as you can get! The brown patches even extend into her tail!
We really have no interest in selling Galaxy, as she is a very special addition to our foundation herd. We have to list a price to get her to show up in more searches.
Galaxy is the product of Magical Farms' multi-champion black herdsire, My Peruvian Obsydian, and MFI Fruitful, who is the daughter of PPPeruvian Accoyo Mr. President.
Galaxy has the finest fleece of our adult foundation females, with tiny little crimps and excellent coverage. Her AFD at age five was still a low 21.7. Her buttery soft, fun multi-colored fleece placed first in the 2015 Southern Select Spin-Off competition. Landmark Farm does not show in halter classes because of the expense, the stress on both the alpacas and their humans, and for bio-security concerns.
Galaxy's beautiful face is the one we use on our logo and she has a sweet temperament too! Even in late pregnancy, she is first to greet us in the barn and is generous with kisses. And she always has something to be talking about too! Visitors are never disappointed if they want to know what alpacas sound like! She is also quite the sprinkler hog in summer! She can be very entertaining!
To date, Galaxy's color genetics have been very dominant for browns. All three of her crias have been medium brown to bay black out of a true black, a light fawn, and a light brown/dark brown pattern! Her first cria, was Landmark Farm's Puddle Jumper, a stunning male sired by Peruvian Black Mesquite. Galaxy became a grandmother in May 2016 with the arrival of Pud's first two crias!
