Our booth at the PNAA Showcase this year was a big hit with exhibitors and visitors alike. We provided demonstrations of the Feltloom and introduced all of the Feltloom Art that we have been working on...sold a respectable number too; tells us that there is a market for artwork made from 100% alpaca!

While the alpacas are happy to be back in their pasture, we are always a bit sad when the show is finally over; the weeks and months leading up to it are so full of excitement and work. This year we showed four alpacas and are excited to report that we came home with four ribbons, two blues, a red and one other!
Collins has been the Facility Manager for the show for the last five years, and this was his last year. Nikki is serving the last year of her term as President of PNAA and understands the challenges for the organization moving forward.

We spent such an enjoyable two hours working with the alpacas this afternoon. And it's amazing to me how they never forget anything. All of them are getting so used to having their pedicures that Collins swears they are now lifting their feet for him without him even asking. I know I don't have to do much holding...it's like we get them into position, and then they just calmly stand there...how much better could it be!

Today we went all the way to Sunnyside, WA where we attended a fleece sorting seminar hosted by Silbury Hill Alpacas; it was great to see all our friends, and make some new ones!

It was a bittersweet parting when Lanette Freitag from The FeltLoom Company left this morning. After spending two very intense days with her and getting to know her and the Feltloom, we are just in awe of everything this company is doing.
Sondra Grumbein (Tres Aguas Alpacas) came; so did Chuck and Rita Uber, Julie Georgiades and Betty Belongabe (Chuck Uber Alpacas); and Cheryl Reed, our local fiber extrordinaire person came for the classes as well...it was a very busy two days, but SO WORTH the wait!
Thank you Lanette for making the FeltLoom! Now we know what we can do with all that wonderful alpaca fiber!

We are hosting one of Cheryl Reed's 3-session Beginning Spinning classes here starting this evening; and I am one of the students; Collins took it last fall and really enjoyed it...

Columbia Basin College's (CBC's) Ag Department has asked us to come back and inaugurate a new class of ag students about the Joy of Alpacas! They ask so many questions; it's really neat!
