No Extra Mouths To Feed
We are not in the alpaca business to sell pets. From the very beginning in 1997 our goal has been to have top quality foundation stock with smart breeding decisions producing superior genetics.Our fiber quality is second to none. Our animals are very healthy. We have no worm or parasite problems. Temperment is very important to us, you won't beleive how friendly our alpacas are. The majority of our genetics come from the elite Accoyo farm in Peru and many of our animals are AOBA National Champions with many show wins. We are now making some of the best suri's we have ever seen.
We have been in the suri alpaca business since 1997 and have seen a lot of changes take place, some good some not so good. We have never lost sight of the fact that alpacas exist solely to provide us with their wonderfull fleece. We have always based our breeding decisions on producing better and better fiber quality. We have been successfull based on our fleece show results, we win a lot. We also win a lot in halter classes which means we haven't ignored the conformation part either. Good fiber is great but it takes healthy animals to reproduce year after year and we also excell in this category. We have built our farm around our oldest girl "CPeruvian Accoyo Clara " who just turned 15 years old. Clara has given us 11 babies in the last 11 years with no health issues and very high quality. Two have been National Champions . Her grand kids and great grand kids are also doing a lot of winning at shows. We strongly advise breeders today to only purchase the highest quality animals you can find. We have been successfull by only having a small amount of very good animals and doing everything ourselves. We have no employees and are very tuned into our animals and can offer a lot of hands on advice. We have personally built everything on our 20 acre property including house, barns, fences, etc. We have developed a system of manure handling and barn chores which has kept us worm free for over 14 years now. We think it's much better to prevent worm problems than to have to treat them. Please come see for yourself what we've been up to. We have a completely open policy where you can observe our animals at any time to help make a better choice of which one might be right for you. Take your own fiber samples if you want, we don't hide anything and will share what we've learned. We've always been more concerned about the well being of animals we've sold than just making a sale. We get attached to our animals and want the best for them.
Update - 2012 AOBA National Show - Pine Valley Suri Farm was honored by being awarded the first official
VINTAGE SURI CUP TROPHY by out scoring other breeders for total points. This was especially rewarding for us because we have decided that after 15 years of raising alpacas we are moving on so we can spend more time doing other things with our daughter Jessica. We are blessed to be able to literally go out on top. Our herd has been sold except for our 1/2 ownership of our 4 herdsires who have done such a great job of keeping us so competitive for all these years.
