Welcome to our farm!
Alpacas of Dancing Meadows is considered a medium sized farm and is located about 10 miles north of Goldendale Washington. This is near the breath-taking Columbia Gorge, known for its beauty, windsurfing, hiking, and wineries.
Our farm is focused on lingering fineness in both white and colored fleeced huacaya alpacas. We have Champion pedigrees in our herd. This includes Snowmass, The Elite Maximus, Hemingway & Accoyo bloodlines.
As a medium-sized farm, we are dedicated to providing you with the best possible advise and service. We have a wealth of knowledge and take pride in our pre and after sales service.
We are very enthusiastic about the alpacas we breed, raise, train and sell.
Please call us today to set up a farm visit! We'd love to meet you and introduce you to our herd!
Welcome to Alpacas of Dancing Meadows Farm! Owners are Jenny & Jim Kirk, we're just north of Goldendale Washington. Jenny grew up with exposure to farm life, while Jim was a City dweller. Well, Jenny changed that for JIm. Before he knew it, he was involved with horses! Now, look at us...we're living the 'good life' in the country with our alpacas, horses, dogs, cats and turtles! (Yep, I said turtles!!)
We started our alpaca farm by purchasing our first 5 huacaya females in 2007. Two of these females were pregnant, two were crias and one was almost ready for breeding. Our original goal was to focus on primarily 'white' alpacas having Accoyo and lingering fineness in their pedigrees. It didn't take us long to add color to our breeding program. We love the blacks! But, again, we have focused on genetics that are proven and include lingering fineness in their pedigrees.
We've grown a bit since our original purchases. Alpacas of Dancing Meadows is proud to offer herdsires, for hire, ranging in color from white to black. We carefully chose herdsires that have very well-known high impact pedigrees and boasting 'lingering fineness' in every one them!
Our farm also offers you breeding stock, pregnant or open proven dams, maidens and potential herdsire males. We often times have fiber/pet or 4H quality alpacas available, as well.
We've been playing with the fleece, too! We have raw fleece, yarn and batts available for sale.
We strive to be great shepherds to our alpacas and will provide you with the best possible assistance in choosing your alpacas or a figuring out a good breed with one of our herdsires. We can also advise you on such things as farm setup, what to feed, vaccinations, toenail clipping, fecals and training.
During our time in this industry we have found that we are often times helping other breeders, folks that just have a couple of alpacas or someone just wanting to learn more about alpacas. We love that sort of thing! So, please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or just need a little advice. If we don't know the answer, we can generally direct you to the right source.
The alpaca industry is exciting, fun and still has plenty of room for growth!
We'd love to hear from you! Please give us a call or email us today! Better yet, schedule a farm visit.
