Alpacas of Chappel Creek is located in scenic Vermilion Ohio. Like most alpaca breeders, we are dedicated to raising and breeding quality alpacas. We chose to stay a small farm to be able to afford spending time with our animals and especially maintaining a quality family business. We enjoy promoting the benefits and use of alpaca fiber through affordable products specializing in our own hand knit items. If you don't see something in our farm store that exactly fits what you're looking for, please contact us and we'll be happy to make it for you or help you find it through our network of farms we work closely with.
I’ll never forget the afternoon that started it all…my daughter, Dana and I were driving into town and saw a bunch of the cutest animals in a pasture and decided to stop in and take a closer look. We had heard that an alpaca farm was in the area but hadn’t seen it before. We were greeted by a group of very friendly and curious animals and immediately fell in love! Dana decided to do her independent study project on alpacas and I got involved in reading her research and we were both sold on the idea but could we sell the rest of the family? Many farm visits and uncountable hours on the internet later, we all decided that an alpaca farm was just what we were looking for…a way to escape from our hectic daily obligations, spend family time working on something we all believed in, raise and work with enjoyable animals, reap some tax benefits plus make some money doing it all.
It’s now several years later and we’ve learned a lot. Our mission hasn’t changed and we’re still dedicated to raising the best quality alpacas we can along with sharing our lessons learned with anyone interested. Our “herd” is still quite small but we’re growing and learning and having a good time doing it all.
We welcome visits or just give us a call to talk through your plans, expectations or problems. We have a great deal of knowledge to share and why not take advantage of other people’s learning curves and save yourself some time, aggravation and dollars. We want to make sure you understand what is really involved in starting up a new farm and raising alpacas without all the sugarcoating. We’ve had our share of problems, like everyone else but we’d do it all over again. They are truly wonderful animals and there’s nothing like a walk out to the barn to wind down at the end of a hectic day!
We hope to hear from you soon…
