Squire Creek Ranch is a small family farm located at the base of Whitehorse Mountain, 22 miles east of the town of Arlington, WA. We began our alpaca journey in November of 2004. Our goal from the beginning was to purchase and produce an outstanding foundation herd. As we begin our 9th year, we are very pleased to have over 20 females of great quality in that foundation herd. The other part of our goal was to create and purchase quality herdsires. Year after year, we are very pleased with the cria that we are putting on the ground, as well as the herdsires we have acquired and created! We repeatedly hear the same comments about our herd: ‘Very fine fleece, great handle, nice staple length, and amazing bone (especially for fine fleeced grey animals!). We have bred for these traits and it is gratifying to hear that kind of feedback!
We continue to be impressed with Rainier’s Silver Pistol, his cria, his yearlings, and adults! In the last couple of years, we were fortunate to acquire Premier's Gold Standard, along with Gold Standard's dam, who gave Squire Creek’s Alejandro. This summer Gold Standard gave us 6 beautifully built offspring with substantial bone, beautiful heads, and very nice, fine, crimpy fleece!
We are even more excited about Alejandro’s cria for summer 2013! At 2 years old, Alejandro maintained a 16.8 micron from year 1 … and the style of his fleece is gorgeous! Alejandro has a full sister who will enter the showring in 2013! Look for Squire Creek’s Fergie!
We were very fortunate to begin our alpaca venture with quality foundation females and great mentoring! Since, we have identified and added additional bloodlines to our herd that we thought would maintain consistent improvement. Because we are adding bloodlines (animals), we are able to offer some of our proven matriarchs and quality yearlings at very competitive prices. For multiple reasons we would like to get back to a herd of 20; so, please take advantage of acquiring some of these very nice girls who are reasonably priced and bred exceptionally well! Please call for an appointment to visit our farm and alpacas!
