We started our exciting alpaca journey in 2003 after seeing a TV commercial. After doing some research and visiting a few farms, we couldn't wait to get started! Although we have been agisting our alpacas for almost 8 years now, getting started in this wonderful industry is the best thing we've ever done. It has definitely taught us patience, but we are getting closer and closer to that day when we will finally be on our own property and be living the lifestyle of our dreams!
Agisting has given us a unique opportunity to learn as we go and network with other breeders, which has been an invaluable experience. Agisting has also allowed us to start with just purchasing one alpaca our first year, and we've grown slowly since that time. As agisters, we have still been able to take advantage of the wonderful tax benefits of this business. Although it's been difficult to not have our alpacas on our own property and be caring for them ourselves, we wouldn't have been able to get started when we did otherwise. Agisting does have its advantages as well as disadvantages, and we'd be happy to share our experience with anyone who is thinking about it. You just have to be patient and keep your eyes on the end result.
My husband and I were never raised around livestock, but we both have a love for animals and even named our ranch after our beloved dog, whose nickname was "The Rose." She was a beautiful Border Collie/Lab who lived to be almost 15 and was a huge part of our lives. She is still greatly missed, but her memory lives on in our alpaca ranch. She is the dog that is pictured in our ranch logo.
Alpacas are definitely our passion and our breeding program is structured to ensure the health of the breed for longevity, and to continue to improve upon each generation. We firmly believe in breeding animals of diverse bloodlines to include Peruvian, Chilean and Bolivian. Our emphasis is on breeding for fineness and elite fleece quality which we feel is the future of the industry. We have also learned the ease of working with alpacas that have great temperaments and try to include that aspect in our breeding decisions.
We believe in doing business with a high standard of excellence with full customer service support after the sale. Honesty, integrity and quality for a fair price are of utmost importance to us. When you do business with our ranch, you can expect nothing less. We love assisting new breeders coming into the alpaca industry and would be happy to share our knowledge and experience with you. Agisting is a great way to get started if you don't have the property, can only afford to purchase one alpaca, or maybe you just want to invest in alpacas without the time, effort and hassles of having your own ranch.
We welcome any inquiries, and if interested in any of our alpacas, we have fleece samples on all of them, and pictures on most. We can arrange a farm visit or just talk pacas!
