Our passion is raising alpacas and living in the country. Alpacas are fascinating animals! They are extremely curious and acutely aware of their surroundings. They love to watch you work in the field, play in the water, and eat out of your hand when they are in the mood. Our hope is you will fall in love with the “lifestyle” and our alpacas will steal your heart as they have ours.
There is nothing better than living in the country, admiring our alpacas in the field and barns, and of course sitting on the patio enjoying a barbeque and a good glass of local wine with our friends. They all want to see how things are going at the farm, the baby alpacas, and the changes in the landscape. Perhaps too, it might have something to do with our four border collies and the two daschunds that also enjoy life on the farm.
Although we love our animals, our focus has been to improve our alpacas through selective breeding. As we study our alpacas' fleece samples for fineness, staple length, density, and uniformity we are identifying breeding pairs that will produce the best characteristics of both parents. Knowing each animal by his or her name, disposition, health, and quality traits is important to us. Our intended breeding improvements have produced a select group of alpacas ready for placement. Our desire is to form a partnership with you to select animals that will help you reach your goals and dreams of owning these wonderful animals.
The best way to experience the “lifestyle” and get acquainted with some alpacas is to visit our ranch. We would love to introduce you to Almond Joy, a proven herdsire with Hemingway/Haldane genetics; Sunshine, a warm and friendly medium brown alpaca with her daughter, Velvet; Dynamite, our herdsire, with his incredibly fine fleece, he is a grandson of Godfather; and Pascha, an exquisite Peruvian, true black female and her daughters, Promise and Tiramisu, their sire is Pinot Noir.
