Heartland Farm, located 13 miles west of Great Bend, in rural Rush County, offers an experience of peace and serenity. It's just far enough from town to step out from the noise and come into nature. Surrounded by vistas of farms and the great sky, this beautiful setting offers space for retreat and renewal, learning and creative expression, and also alpacas!

A herd of beautiful, inquisitive Huacaya alpacas lives at Heartland Farm and a visit to their barn is a must. You might find these lovely animals in the pens near the barn, loafing in the barn itself or grazing in one of the pastures.

We raise alpacas for their fleece and for their organic compost as well as for breeding. We spin the fleece, sell yarn and roving as well as knitted and crocheted articles made from alpaca yarn. At the Farm's onsite gift shop, the goods can be purchased along with other farm gifts and domestic goods that are for sale.

Heartland farm was established back in 1987 by the Dominican Sisters of Peace and opens its doors to the community. When you visit Heartland Farm you will be able to expand your knowledge and skills through hands-on experience. They regularly offer workshops in the categories of baking, gardening, making natural beauty products, and more.

Guests are welcome to roam the open pastures and walking trails around the 80-acre farmstead, ensuring a pleasant retreat for all visitors. Come walk the labyrinth, a meditative path that relates to wholeness, a journey to our own center and back. Guests can visit for the day or reserve overnight accommodations in the farm's guest house or strawbale hermitage.

Visit their Facebook Page or check out their website to learn about upcoming events, retreat packages, visiting hours and more at Heartlandfarm-Ks.org.

COME VISIT OUR FARM!

Heartland Farm is an 80-acre farm located in the central plains crossroads of the United States. We are a 30-year-old ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace and is home to a Christian community committed to the healing and care of the Earth and its inhabitants.

We care for 14 huacayaa: herdsires, geldings, young boys, and females with crias.

Living and caring for alpacas is such a joy. We enjoy their presence and spin yarn with their fleece. We make handmade gifts thanks to our herd's gorgeous fleece such as, scarves, hats, gloves, soap bags, alpaca fleece stuffed doggy beds, dryer balls and more.

We have priced our alpacas at a valuable price at this time and soon you will be able to purchase goods from our gift shop online.

Come stop by today.
