Fiona as a cria! |
Welcome to Breezy Ridge Alpacas LLC (BRAF). We are a small working farm breeding for fine, natural colored Suri Alpacas where we utilize every ounce of the alpaca fleece. We breed for fineness and luster for those awesome fiber products.
Farm tours are available by appointment only, with a small donation to help support the animals is appreciated. 573-547-2217 or info@breezyridgealpacas.com
Suri fiber is prized for its luster, fineness, slick handle, cool feeling, drape, elegance, and strength. No other animal fiber possesses all these features, and makes Suri highly sought after worldwide.
Alpacas are easy to handle, eco friendly, and self sustainable, being sheared once a year with no harm to the animal. They do not contain lanolin therefore processing does not require the use of harsh detergents. Go Green with alpaca from start to finish. Even the beans (alpaca manure) are used to make rich soil for gardens. They only need grass pasture and good quality grass hay and small amount of alpaca grain each day and free choice mineral to give them the best health & fiber possible.
Click on the Store tab to see some of our products made from the alpaca fiber, as well as handspun & mill spun yarns, batts & roving. Not everything is listed as we are always adding new items.
The on site Farm Store is open by appointment only, call 573-547-2217 or email info@breezyridgealpacas to schedule your appointment.
We offer Alpaca sales, breeding services, and alpaca fiber product with excellent customer service. We can work out a package for you with great discounts.

DON’T MISS THE EXCITEMENT OF ALPACAS
LOCAL IN MISSOURI
Nina Furstenau, of Fayette, MO, features Breezy Ridge Alpaca Farm in the new book, Savor Missouri: River Hills Country Food and Wine. Published by Acclaim Press, the book was released April 17.
Breezy Ridge is not about food or wine, but I couldn’t resist a stop at Connie Blechle’s alpaca farm shop. Connie felt like a jack-of-all-trades and master of none until she came across alpacas. Now, her days are filled with fiber. Connie cares for a herd of 20 Suri alpacas and harvests the wool each May. She cleans, cards, spins the wool, and sells the yarn, specialty scarves, hats, and sweaters from her farm shop near Perryville, at craft fairs, or more recently, online.
Missouri’s great rivers—the Missouri, the Mississippi, and the Meramec—are agri-tourism magnets with visitors coming to follow wine trails, pick peaches, buy fresh honey, smoked meats, and more. Savor Missouri: River Hills Country Food and Wine helps readers experience Missouri in world-class and down-home eater
