Start with a confirmationally correct and finely fleeced female alpaca of breeding age. Add the services of a better confirmationally correct and finely fleeced male alpaca. Wait for 11 to 11-1/2 months. The result of this pairing should be a gorgeous confirmationally correct and finely fleeced baby alpaca (cria). We’ve been raising and breeding huacaya alpacas since 2001 and have grown from an original herd of 3 to over 30 alpacas – in spite of wildfires raging too close for comfort, drought and a record-breaking extended period of extreme heat (temperatures over 100 during the day and not much cooler at night) in 2011. Even the deer were aborting their fawns.
Our primary focus hasn’t been the age, sex or color of each of our alpacas – but the health of each and the fiber they produce that we harvest annually.
We’ve made a concerted effort to choose alpacas or to breed our dams to herdsires who have correct confirmation and can produce offspring who also have correct confirmation and fine, uniform, crimpy, organized and dense fleeces.

*mentoring you as new owners with such issues as nutrition, herd health management, and record-keeping,
*boarding your alpacas for you until you’re set up to take them with you,
*helping you choose the right Herdsire for your females
