Reflections From The Farm . . . . .
Sometimes things that occur each day just make you notice and "see" it a bit differently. Walking through the barn this morning and just going about the everyday activities I actually took the time to appreciate that all of the alpacas were cushed closely together and of course in my way. While making numerous trips winding my way through the herd again and again, choosing my steps carefully so I did not step on any animals I really appreciated that even the most flighty in the herd did not move a muscle when I intruded. Today I need to acknowledge and thank the herd for they have taught me so much; their behavior this morning is an affirmation of sorts that I am on the right track with my little farm. Some folks are just naturals when it comes to being with/around livestock; I do not consider myself gifted with that talent. The animals here trust Les and I and that makes all of the hard work that happens here worth the time and effort. (Written on a warm July morning)
