20 bales of orchard grass were recently dropped of to me from a new hay supplier. I had ordered 2nd cut Timothy and he felt it was too “stemmy” so he delivered 2nd cut orchard grass. I never experienced any foxtail in Timothy and I usually only feed my girls Timothy I’m not sure if this is dangerous. It looks like yellowfoxtail and the seeds on the head are green. Is the foxtail dangerous to them? I know Hay foxtail is a big No no for horses because it causes ulcers and I imagine it’s the same for alpacas.. Thanks!!!
