One of our male alpacas had a successful "connection" with a female yesterday. Today another female cushed immediatley and the male attempted to do his thing but could not hit the mark. Any suggestions to improve this?

Male breeding question

Does anyone have an comment on how to improve the aim of a male while breeding? We used him 2 days ago with no problem, the female cushed and he obviously knew what to do. Today we used him on another female, who also cushed right away. However. to put it gently, his aim was off. Any suggestions to aid in this situation would be most welcome.

We have been treating with ivomec to improve loss of hair from nose and cheeks. Our vet has diagnosed mites. Some improvement has been noted but not a lot. Is there anything else we can try?

Hi Dr. Ruth,
I have a female that had a heavy girl riding her for awhile. It seems to have damaged her joints. She has been removed from that pen. You can hear the popping as she walks. She is not uncomfortable and can run to keep up with the herd. My vet Oked the use of glucosamine to add to her grain. I have used it for about a year. She is not worse but the sound is still there and sometimes the joint gets stuck and she has to work to get it unstuck. I was wondering with your experience if there is a better supplement for her.
Thanks for your time. Carol
