My alpaca thinks that the halter will eat her!!!
|Hi Marty, we have four alpaca girls acquired from a farm in Canada. They were never halter trained at all. Whenever they had to handle the animals, they just herded them wherever and then did, what needed to be done. All four handle really well, once you get a hold of them (in a catch pen!). Three girls have adapted to being led on a halter. The fourth girl, however, acts as if the halter will kill her once it's applied. She will bang her chin on the ground and act like a wild woman. I've tried getting her accustomed to the halter "your" way. She isn't receptive at all. What else can I do?
