When folks call and come out for a farm visit at Alpacas 4u2c and we tell
them we have a farm store we are really not sure what they expect. Once they
step into Jo's farm store it is always the same WOW! We try to make their
first experience in Jo's store very special.
They have already learned so much by being out with our alpacas in the pastures.
We explain from the birth of a cria (baby) and their needs as they grow and on to the
weaning process. We teach them the difference between the two different kinds
of alpacas, Suri and the Huacaya the kind we have in our pastures. We go in detail
from breeding back to birthing.
Then the questions start about their fleece. This is the next step as we
go into our store. Most folks don't realize how much can be done with alpaca
fiber. Not just the extra soft raw fiber for spinners then there is the soft nature colors
of their yarn. We do have dyed bamboo blended with our ACCOYO white to come up
with some very soft baby colors such as different shades of blues and greens.
Then their eyes really start looking around at all the one of a kind hand
knitted items that came from that special alpaca out in the pasture that they
were touching.. We also carry socks and many different hand made toys for the
kids. By the time they leave Jo's store and farm they have a complete
understanding of what our farm Alpacas 4u2c is all about.
When you have time give us a call and set up a time for you to come here for a
farm/store visit or just visit our web page and order from that.
Thanks for your time and hope you have enjoyed this story and have learned
something of interest to you. Lee and Joanne
