Our Story

How It All Began

We are Robin Day and Ed May, owners of Luna Rosa Ranch Suri Alpacas. We specialize in the rare and elegant Suri Alpaca, the alpaca breed characterized by long flowing locks. Luna Rosa Ranch maintains one of the finest herds of Suri Alpacas in the Northwest today, concentrating on colored and patterned alpacas. Our pastures are full of living art!

We offer Alpacas for Breeding, Fiber, and Pets, and sell fiber products from our online store.

It all began in 1998 when we were looking for llamas to carry our packs hiking . . . and a neighbor told us about some "little llamas" for sale. That chance remark changed our life . . . and we have never looked back! Those "little llamas" turned out to be ALPACAS.

ALPACAS ARE THE ULTIMATE . . .

They are light on the land & family-friendly. Alpacas produce an annual no-kill crop of luxurious fiber in over 20 natural colors. Alpaca fiber is known as the fiber of the gods . . .

Early on we made the decision to remain small. We produce only a few alpaca babies a year. We have time to work with each and every one of our alpacas . . . and it shows! Our alpacas are people-friendly and easy for new owners to work with.

We provide all the hands-on care for our herd and enjoy interacting with our alpacas each day. Alpacas provide wonder and fun in your world. We cannot now imagine a world without our SURIS.
