All you have to do is enter a website address that will link to your site, select a free design, and you're up and running!

All of your edits are done right in your Openherd account and when you make an update, both your Openherd pages and your website update at the same time!

Openherd Plus Websites can be customized to be very individual to your farm's brand and offer the benefits of keeping themselves up-to-date based on your Openherd edits, and having a very professional, highly functional, and easy-to-use format. Therefore, the site design can be highly customized but the basic page template layout and functionality will remain the same in order for these time-saving and ease-of-use benefits to remain.

If you are looking for a completely unique, custom-designed website, then a Plus Website may not be the best solution for you. However, keep in mind that your customers care more about finding the information they're looking for and that the information is well presented and up-to-date, than they do about how unique your site is. Many farms spend a lot of money having a custom site built and then don't have the time to keep it up-to-date. Yes. Your website will be hosted on Openherd's servers that have multiple layers of redundancy, meaning that your site will have virtually no down-time. There is no extra charge for hosting - it's all included in your membership plan.

Yes. Your Plus website includes complete email hosting and there is no extra charge for this. Email can be accessed via a fully-featured webmail interface or downloaded on your home computer or mobile phone.

Yes. Your website address (i.e. www.myfarm.com) can work with your Openherd Plus Website. You may also add additional domains that point to your website.

You can also use your Openherd Personalized URL (i.e. myfarm.openherd.com). While this is not quite as personalized, it requires no domain registration or setup. Just type the name you want on the Website Settings page under the My Website tab in your account and your address will instantly work.

Yes. Openherd offers domain registration services that include setting it up to work with your Plus Website. We can check to see if the name you want is available for registration. Contact Openherd support for more information.

Your Openherd PlusTM Website is all managed through your Openherd account so that when you make edits or add a page, your Openherd profile and your website update simultaneously. Openherd provides very easy tools for adding new pages, uploading photos, and easy page templates to make layout simple. All of the navigation and linking is done automatically for you.

Openherd PlusTM Websites are optimized for search engines "out of the box." This allows search engines to effectively index your site and give good rankings for keywords that relate to your site's content, your farm location, etc.

Yes. Openherd PlusTM Websites come pre-wired for Google Analytics tracking. Just sign up for a free Google Analytics account where you will be provided with a unique ID code for your site. Then just enter this code into the appropriate box on the Website Settings page under the My Website tab in your account, and you'll be able to instantly start tracking traffic to your site through your Google account.

Yes. Openherd PlusTM Websites come pre-wired for Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube links. Just enter your URLs on the Website Settings page under the My Website tab in your account, and the corresponding icon and link will automatically appear on your website, letting visitors click through to your social pages.

As soon as you upgrade to any Openherd paid membership, you can set up your store with a few clicks. Then you upload your products or services in a similar way to adding alpacas. As soon as your products are uploaded they will show up in the Openherd Store, on your Openherd profile, and on your Openherd PlusTM Website under the "Store" tab. You can specify how payment can be made - with PayPal checkout, by phone, or by redirecting people to another web page.

Yes. This is done using PayPal checkout. PayPal is a global standard for online payments, is highly secure, and can be directly linked to your bank account. All you need to do is have a PayPal account. You simply enter the email address associated with your PayPal account on your Openherd product pages, and Openherd takes care of the rest.

Other website hosting companies may offer standard website hosting for less but they are not geared towards farms and you will be completely on your own to build your sales lists and keep them up to date. This is where most farm websites get stuck - they quickly become a technical headache and there are just not enough hours in the day to keep another website and sales list up to date.
