Alpacas are fiber-producing members of the camelid family raised exclusively for their soft and luxurious wool. Their fleeces are sheared once a year. Each shearing produces roughly 5 to 10 pounds of fiber per animal each year.
Alpacas produce one of the world’s finest and most luxurious natural fibers. The fiber is soft as cashmere and warmer, lighter and stronger than wool and comes in more colors than any other fiber producing animal (22 distinguishable natural colors ranging from white through fawn, brown, several shades of gray and true black). Clothing, blankets, sweaters, socks, caps, gloves and an almost endless variety of other items can be made from alpaca fiber. Their fleece can be used in its natural color or dyed.
We offer alpaca products including:
100% alpaca stuffed teddy bears;
Scarves, caps, gloves, and socks (100% alpaca or alpaca blends);
Sweaters, vests, or sweater coats/jackets (100% alpaca or alpaca blends);
Hand-knitting yarns and patterns for hand knitters; and
100% alpaca woven rugs.
In addition, we may also offer hand-made items of clothing and accessories – most made from 100% North American grown and processed alpaca.
