We are proud to add Patagonia's Darrilo our breeding program. Darrilo is a TRUE BLACK, stocky built, mild mannered macho with fantastic color genetics. Darrilo's skin biopsy, though not taken until age 4, still showed him to be above average in density 48.6mm with an amazing standard deviation of only 2.9 micron on an MFD of 20.1 microns. No wonder he has such a soft, fine handle.
Darrilo has a very special pedigree loaded with outstanding color. Starting with his sire, Patagonia's El Vasco who's championship show record was due to his very stylish look and very dense (70 fsqmm) very soft(19 micron) very consistent (SP 13to1) fleece.
El Vasco was sired by the famous, exotic modern grey Neruda. One of the industry's rare dark point grey's, Neruda sold for $205,000 making his genetics some of the most sought after in the industry. Vasco's dam, Melrose was sired by PPeruvian Pluro who made a name for himself in Peru, the United States and Australia. Pluro's breeding's were in high demand for his ability to pass on his incredible fleece coverage and large bone.
But that's not all! Darrilo's dam was sired by Caballero Andante, a decorated black male known for producing100% black when bred to black. Andante has sired many fine fleeced offspring with crimpy dense fleece along with that very stylish type' head.
Darillo is so mild mannered he is very easy to handle and can be pastured with young boys without fear of fighting or misbehavior.
