My Peruvian Equador

Huacaya, Male, Proven, Light Fawn, Full Peruvian
ARI# 817854 | DOB: 2/21/2000
UPDATE: At twenty-one years of age, we have retired Equador from breeding, as he is most likely infertile now. His last breedings did not take, and a physical exam also supports this conclusion. He is still very robust and healthy and will now live out his senior years in comfort at Landmark Farm!

For those who need the scientific stats provided by skin biopsy to back up the claim of lingering fineness, here they are!

In June 2012, we had then 12-year-old My Peruvian Equador evaluated b...

Rincon Cloud daughter

Rincon's Aramantha

Huacaya, Female, Proven, Medium Silver Grey, Full Chilean

Aramantha is one of two girls on our farm with the West Coast genetics of the 2005 AOBA National Grey Color Champion, Emerald Farm's Rincon Cloud. Rincon comes from a champion grey lineage, sired by Crescent Moon's Rayo Del Sol, and grandson of Patagonia's Danko. Aramantha's dam is our Chilean foundation matriarch (now deceased), dark silver grey, MFI Cadence.

Aramantha is a lovely grey girl with very correct confirmation. Her color is a very even medium silver grey, with an adorable black...

Update: Congratulations to Granite Alpaca Co. for their purchase of Blue as a future herdsire!

Blue was our biggest cria yet! He weighed 23.5 pounds at birth and was up to 25 pounds on day three! He has been a very precocious boy ... drinking water before he was two weeks old and eating supplement at three weeks!

This boy has gorgeous conformation, but then, he should. Both his sire and dam have beautiful phenotypes and he is already reminding us of his older full sister, Seraphina, the largest and most elegant female in the barn!

Blue's fleece, sheared at 3 weeks, was dark grey, but it has been our experience with our grey crias, that many of them lighten (at the skin too) by their weanling shearing. We registered him as a medium silver grey. At the skin, mid side, he is right at the cutoff between medium and dark grey.

His lovely grey fleece has white tips, and is dense, soft, and has beautiful crimp. We hope he keeps improving with age as his sire has!

Blue is the sixth offspring from our Champion Herdsire, My Peruvian Equador. Equador does not disappoint!!
