Oh my goodness, what a boy this little guy has grown up to be.

This is Parker (so called because we already have a beloved harlequin named "Sparky"). Parker is the son of Whispering Winds Showtime, a harlequin appaloosa who is the animal to have originally started my harlequin obsession. To this day, Showtime remains the only harlequin I am aware of to possess his unique and striking "merle" patterning of maroon and steel grey. He is also unique in that he hails from one of the rarest harlequin lines in the USA -- PPPeruvian Mochaccino 4824, who appears in the pedigree of only one other harlequin line that I am aware of. Showtime's sire, Gold Standard, was a champion and champion producing Legacy Gold son. Parker's dam, Cerveza's Nekeas, is a pinto granddaughter of the top-rated import herdsire Peruvian Celebre, and has been a fantastic producer for her farm.

Parker was a small boy when he arrived here, but he has since filled out incredibly and blossomed into what promises to be an amazing herdsire. His proportions, conformation and breed type are all absolutely ideal. He is compact, yet very heavyset, with great bone, a wide chest, and deep, round barrel. His proportions are perfectly square, the exact size and shape that we are breeding for. His head is faultless, with a very short, wide muzzle and correct bite. He has great coverage and a full topknot.

A soft, silky hand is the primary defining characteristic of this male's fleece. He exhibits great brightness with a sustained low AFD on his fifth fleece; he was acquired by our farm a bit too late to have tested his first or second, but the quality of his fifth speaks volumes. He has good apparent density with a high-frequency crimp style.

Last, but certainly never least, Parker is a calm, friendly animal who was used in education before arriving on our farm. Despite this, he exhibits excellent macho presence and a great libido.

Parker will begin his breeding career in 2017. This will be a good one to keep an eye on.
