SERIOUS GENETICS! Check out her certificate!

This little female represents one of the most unique genetic combinations I've seen -- and it appears to have worked.

Her sire, Snowmass Elite Iceman, is a son of the incomparable Snowmass Elite Legend (you know, the guy who won Futurity Herdsire of the Year over and over and over again, who has had, quite possibly, a greater impact on the North American white Huacaya herd than any other living stud male). Elite Iceman isn't just "a son" of Elite Legend, however; he's a 10x Champion with some of the best EPDs I have ever seen on an alpaca (top 1 - 10% in ALL categories, except for MSL, and even then, unlike much of his cohort group, he's just shy of the 25% mark). This is probably due to his dam, Snowmass Invincible daughter Iced Orchid, who has EPDs in the top 1 - 25% in ALL categories -- and who also happens to be the granddam of Snowmass Loro Piana, the finest alpaca ever produced, to my knowledge, and who is, I believe, undoubtedly going to be the Next Big Thing. Iceman has only just begun his breeding career, and at the time of this writing, and Maxine is one of his first two offspring.

She's probably going to be one of his most unique, as well, pedigree-wise. Her dam is a black/indefinite daughter of Patagonia's Neruda, a solid producer of lovely, strong, typey cria and an excellent dam. The presence of this true black dam so close up in Maxine's pedigree gives me a strong suspicion that she will be able to produce the colors that I am breeding for -- namely, Tuxedo grey and Harlequin.

Maxine herself is a gorgeous little girl. She is compact and typey, with solid substance of bone. As expected, she has a dense, bright, very uniform fleece with very good fineness.

This one will be bred to Harlequin in the spring ... I'm not sure who yet. She has been priced only because we have quite a bit of Snowmass Quechua already in our herd, and I have to price some of them! Her price is somewhat firm, and does include a breeding to any of our herdsires.
