2x 1st place winning Snowmass Quechua's Phoenix is one of only 47 sons of the great Snowmass Quechua.
In 2005, an Alpaca stud named Snowmass Invincible sold at auction for a then record $580,000. I did some research into his pedigree and discovered that Invincible had an older brother, still residing at Snowmass. So in February of 2006, I made the largest capital expenditure in the short history of my small Alpaca operation and purchased Highland Lass at auction, bred to Snowmass Quechua. And as luck would have it, on 8/16/06, Snowmass Quechua’s Phoenix was born.
Quechua is the son of Elite, one of the very best Accoyo herdsires out of the sixth and final Peruvian importation, and Maree Love, a daughter of Hemingway and Peruvian Lace (Caligula x Alianza import). Quechua is the 2002 Futurity White Color Champion as well as the 2006 and 2007 Futurity Light Herdsire of the Year. Tragically, while Phoenix was in-utero, Quechua suffered a fatal head injury in a freak accident. Quechua is survived by 87 outstanding offspring, 40 females and 47 males, including Phoenix. In 2010, Phoenix’s half paternal brother, Snowmass Matrix sold at auction for a record price of $675,000.
For 2019, Phoenix's breeding fee will be set at $1500* and half price to any 1st or 2nd place winning female in an AOA certified show.
