Meet the reigning crown prince of CCNF. Show record aside, at the time he was born, Elixir was probably the best male alpaca our breeding program had produced in 16 years. Good thing too, as he and his paternal siblings had some mighty big shoes that we were asking them to fill in the years ahead. The son of three time Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Elite Legend, and our multi-Champion Archangel daughter, CCNF Ascension, Elixir when conceived as a concept on paper was supposed to be go...

Description

One of the benefits of having worked with these lines for more than 2 decades now is that we start to easily recognize traits associated with certain families/animals from within our breeding program. Originally slated to be a member of our show team this past spring – we were in the process of halter training 20+ juveniles for the 2020 Futurity the when the show season was shut down – Abraxas clearly displays his genetic roots in his phenotype and fleece characteristics if you know what you are looking at. While Abraxas draws his fine, bright, and dense fleece really from both sides of his pedigree (Archangel, Matrix Majesty, Legacy Gold, Quechua, and 5P Cangalli will do that), his outward physical appearance is almost directly attributable to his maternal great-grandsire, CCNF Royal Ring of Fire and HIS dam, 5Peruvian Margarita.

Given the color in Abraxas’s family tree – and the pin-prick fawn spot he carries on one hip – one could really argue that he is in fact a colored alpaca masquerading as a white? For whatever it’s worth, his dam in fact blessed us with a light fawn full sister back in May of this year. Regardless of how you read him though, what Abraxas does undeniably represent is a young male with tons of potential and we are proud to offer him for sale. Like all of our young, unproven males, Abraxas is sold with a full reproductive guarantee.
