Description

Loja is a beautiful smokey bay black female with plenty of gray highlights in her fleece. If we were to show her in today's AOBA classes, she would be a modern dark silver gray. This female will be held in our foundation herd if someone doesn't snap her up. Her fleece maintains fineness paired with brightness and high amplitude style crimp as Loja ages. Both of her parents maintained fine fleece with age so we're not surprised! She's well proportioned with solid structure and nice bone.

Loja delivered twins in July 2011, but unfortunately one did not make it. We couldn't believe she carried them to term, 346 days! Both males weighed 9 lbs, one fawn and one black. The surviving twin grew like a weed and has beautiful fiber characteristics. He was sold before weaning and you would have never guess that he started out so small.

We have tried breeding Loja on several occasions over the last few years and each time she spits off for a period of time and then comes up as open a few months later. We suspect something was damaged while carrying/and or delivering the twins that has caused her to be unable to carry a pregnancy full term. We have tried courses of antibiotics, but there has been no change. We will sell Loja with her registration but we cannot give reproductive guarantees with her.
