Champ never got to establish a show record for several reasons, but this boy has it all in terms of fiber and style. But he and Delta put an amazing daughter in our herd, Silky. She is a beautiful black girl. Of all of our herdsires, I've always loved Champ's style and fiber. He is as dense as Electrofyre almost and has the same handle. We have never quite been able to figure out Champ's color. He was shown as a bay black one time. He came in third because he had some white fiber in his fleece. At shearing that year, the shearer could not find any. He is a definite favorite on our farm and always has been and he will be one of the last to leave. And his daughter, Silky, will also be one of the last to leave. I have lots of alpacas out of the Diamonte and MacGyver line to pick from and most are beautiful but we all have our favorites and on this farm, it's some of the foundation girls plus Champ, Silky and Bethie. I'd recommend Champ for breeding in a flat second based on what I know Diamonte produces and what Isis produces. Call us is you are interested in a breeding. We do have some amazing herdsires and unfortunately we do not get to shows across the country to advertise what we have on our farm. Do not let Champ's third place put you off as Electrofyre also got third at CABO. And we were told that of 1000 black Suri fleeces being judged at a show, only one did not have white fiber. We now think we have a black boy who has no white fiber, Indy out of PVA First Lady by Roberto, We will keep First Lady and consider for ET in spite of this retirement sale. I can't give all of them up! Black was the last color we expected in that breeding of fawn to fawn. And Indy impregnated his first girl at less than 2 years old. It is with heavy heart that we consider selling Champ and he is worth every penny we are asking for him. He will always be one of my favorites. He had a tough time coming to NC and would not eat grain until he was a year old so he was small at a year. When he did start to eat grain, his legs started to splay so the vet told us to cut back on his feed. He is correct now and a average sized boy at about 170. But you can see in that cria head the potential. You can see from his pre-shearing photo this year he is a true Diamonte son and a Captain Morgan grandson!. Solid genetics behind this boy. His dam has always been one of our best producers. I may consider a co-ownership with the right person.

Not eager to sell her. She used to stand beside me while her mother ate before Silky are grain. A bit like her sire, she liked milk better. So, I’d lo...
