AND, HIS CRIA HAVE HIT THE GROUND RUNNING !!!

Commander has produced black, bay black, silver grey & rose grey and brown! His color production appears to be as successful as that of his renown sire, Navigator.

Description

Adrastea’s fleece (2008 AFD=15.8, SD=3.5, CV=22, %>30=0.6) won a special award for Best Brightness at MaPaca and she won a Blue Ribbon and Reserve Championship in halter at the 2003 OABA show. She has excellent conformation and a beautiful, soft fleece with lots of character. Her 2006 total fleece weight was an incredible 13.5# (and she was pregnant during most of that growth!).

Her grandsire is P. Emilio, a fabulous male with a dense, Accoyo-like crimpy fleece. Her dam is P. Accent, the daughter of Accoyo Peruvian Leon, the darkest Accoyo male in North America.

Although, she is technically beige, Adrastea has gray on her face. Her top knot presents as beige, however, when parted, is gray underneath & all her pigmentation is dark!

Her first cria, Gun Smoke, is a dark rose grey son of the multiple award-winning, black Peruvian Dakotia son, MFI Pistol who sold in '06 for $230,000. Smoke ribboned at both of the 2 huge shows in which he was entered in spring '06 - MaPaca & the AOBA Nationals! Then, in autumn '06, he earned a Blue Ribbon at the Coastal Classic and 1st Place and COLOR CHAMPION at the Empire Show (Level V)! He just keeps getting better!

Because of Adrastea's dark pigmentation, we bred her to our award-winning grey herd sire, Navigator. In July 2007 she presented us with a beautiful black female cria (Navigaor's SPRITE). Sprite is another winner for Parris Hill Farm placing 2nd in large classes in her show ring debut. Both were Level V shows (NAAS & MAPACA).

We have bred Adrastea to our true black, multiple Color Champion, Navigator's Commander, for what we expect to be another outstanding cria in 2009.
