Monsanto was the 2003 Halter Champion at AOBA Nationals, the Virginia Classic, and MAPACA. His elite fleece beat some of the best in the country to take these top awards. Monsanto is the son of Magical Farms' gorgeous herdsire, Quetzal, and grandson of two of the greats. On his sire's side, the incomparable Accoyo Timoteo, who Don Julio Barreda cited as one of the top three most influential huacaya males to ever leave the Accoyo Ranch. Monsanto's maternal grandsire is 4Peruvian Matador, who has sired countless champions including MFI Peruvian Black Mesquite.
It was Magical Farms' intent to retain Monsanto in their breeding program as a future replacement for his sire, DPA Quetzal. Instead, they made the difficult decision to offer him for sale in the 2004 Breeder's Choice Auction, where he sold for $125,000!
Monsanto has produced high-quality crias in every color, including one of the best greys in the country, multi-champion MFI Zoolander.
