Description

Satin's dam is Black Satin (Augusto and Lethal Weapon lines) and her sire is 22-time Champion and 2-time Judge's Choice Ringo Cloud.

She was originally registered as true black, but more and more spots of grey kept popping up every day. There was a debate about whether or not she's an Appaloosa (Diane Timmerman at 2014 VAOBA; or Dark Brown with grey contamination (Wade Gease at 2015 CABO). The AOA reviewed this girl in detail and she is considered an Appaloosa! This is a unique girl indeed.

Skin biopsy done by Norm Evans showed 110 follicles/sqmm, 30% modulation, 3 of 4 rating on gland structure, secondaries 20.1, primaries 24.2 and a variation of 4.1. Per Norm she's "a keeper".

She was bred to WT Gold's Paiute (light Appaloosa) and had a lovely dark male; there seems to be some variegation in the coloring....cross your fingers! I would consider breeding her to a lighter Harlequin like Apache Gentlemen. And, since her male cria's parents are both Appaloosa, he could very likely throw Appaloosa is bred correctly. Because he is not "phenotypically" Appaloosa, I will sell him for $3000.

Awards

Third Place, CABO 2015, Class of 4, Medium Brown, Wade Gease. (Diane Timmerman color checked her as Appaloosa at VAOBA 2014......I did not show her secondary to her not being ready emotionally)
