Picking up Ronan was a nightmare, but his genetics were so worth it... Until I got him home. The very first time I saw him in daylight I noticed how weird his jaw looked. The fact that he couldn't seem to open his mouth fully, and he chewed SO slowly. I sent a video to my friend and she didn't see it, so I went ahead and bred him to the doe I'd bought JUST to breed him to. But his jaw just kept getting worse and worse. He came to me thin, but he kept losing weight because he could barely eat. His teeth were sticking out all over the place, and if I tried to open his mouth past his normal stopping point he would scream bloody murder. I reached out to Melanie and she responded once and then ghosted me. I ended up putting Ronan down because he was so thin and miserable, and I still haven't heard a word back.
So now I'm out the money that I spent on the two goats, and I get an agonizing wait to see if his kids are going to come out with the same defect.
And if they don't, should I use them?? I don't even know, and just beyond upset about the whole situation.
Fingers crossed I don't have to put his kids down too.
