This buck is special as he carries some of the best Black Mesa put together. He is line bred to Elite Six M Galaxy Make A Big Splash, and Elite Reuel Rhesa's JJ Rio Grande. He has Superior Genetics behind him and his Grand Sire Black Mesa Gideon made the Elite list in 2017. He also has Goldthwaite Exotic Affair who made the Elite list 2013-2014, 2016-2019. We have very high hopes for what Kenai is going to offer our herd as a foundation buck! We will be using him heavily in our herd for the 2024 Breeding season. Update 10/13/2024 : We have four confirmed breeding's from Kenai for 2025 kidding season! -The Cayenne - 1 buck -Continuous Sweet Cee Cee - 1 buck 1 doe -White Fields Bella Luna - 2 bucks -Pedsdoc Andromeda - 1 buck -Pedsdoc Winky - 1 buck 1 doe -Continuous Lovely Lanna - 1 buck Kenai passed away on January 22, 2025. We were very sad to see this beautiful buck go. He has blessed us with so many bucks from many great does to continue his legacy. He passed on all the wonderful traits that we loved about him, and are so eager to see how they mature. Please click links above for the DNA results of: As1 Casein A/A G6s N/N

Very Large Doe!

Continuous Lovely Lanna

NubianDoe (female)Blonde and Cream spotted
ADGA# N002117650DOB: 3/21/20188 yrs
Lanna is one of the biggest does we have in our herd. This girl is massive! She is a great producer, although we haven't tested her production, soon after she kidded with us I had to milk the side her doelings weren't drinking from, she gave me half a gallon from just that side! Lanna's transition to our farm has been very eventful. She has struggled to get settled in and mourned her previous home. It was quite traumatic, and so we have had a hard time getting her adjusted. Add the toll it takes to kid and raise them, plus climate and environment change, it really messed with her immune system and ability to keep her condition. We treated her twice for mastitis, and upper respiratory infection. We have finally gotten a break through with her and she is getting back into shape. She is an excellent mother and has a very capacious udder. Her fore udder extends well and she has extra long teats with a nice open flow for easy hand milking. Her rear udder attachment could use an improvement, but I expect her doelings to have that since they were bred to Black Mesa Cruise. I am excited to see how her doelings are improved. Update 4/7/2025 : Lanna is doing wonderful and has completely settled into our farm. We did not intend or expect for her to breed, but it looks like Kenai did breed with her. We are not mad about it at all! This is great news for us as it would mean their lines get further preserved. I did not confirm her being bred, but it’s pretty obvious with how huge she is, and her udder bagging up. She should be kidding soon!

Pedigree

We feel so incredibly blessed to have this buckling join our lineup of herd sires. When we first learned that Lanna was bred from Kenai, we were hoping for doelings. Instead, we got a bigger blessing of a buckling to continue the legacy of this bloodline.

Lanna is an extremely productive and powerful doe. She wowed the appraiser with her incredible udder and overall conformation. Lanna has been dealing with some mineral deficiencies that we are working to resolve. In the meantime, we will not be able to get her through a full 305 lactation, which is a shame! We hope that in the future we will be able to, but it will require some extreme oversight.

Nevertheless, we have maternal and paternal siblings to this buckling, and are confident that he is going to make a strong impact on our herd!
