Details

This all-black small breed is very gentle and fun to have on a homestead. We have been raising them since 2015; this young boar will get your herd started!

Sire and dam on premises. Sire is extra large for an AGH.

They will dispose of mountains of garden refuse and kitchen scraps. Their favorite food is ragweed! They should not be overfed grain or bread for quick growth--it will mostly go to backfat and sows may go infertile.

They are small enough to put in the freezer or smoker without special equipment. Adult liveweight is a low of 150# for sows to a high of 300# for boars. Their meat is tender, flavorful, and delicious. Bacon to die for!

If you are new to pig raising, advice is included, just ask!

Our farm is located where I-72, I-74, and I-57 meet in east central Illinois. Joy of Illinois Farm, Champaign, Illinois
