Meet our Jaina, she is Full Peruvian and 3/4 Accoyo. When we entered the business in 2004, we purchased three females, one was Jaina's mom, June. As time passed we chose to sell June and keep her first daughter Jacki. Fortunately, June remained on our farm and was bred to El Accoyo Rubio and they created Jaina. Long story short...she never left us although she was sold at 6 months of age to a farm in Colorado. Then our Jacki had a troubled birth and our hearts broke since she would became a non-breeder. Since we loved this bloodline we tried to buy Jaina in 2010 to no avail, owners would not sell. Well our patience awarded us and we took ownership in 2015 and immediately bred her to our Full Peruvian, 7/8 Accoyo White Color Champion Mr. Aristotle.
With Lady Jabron at one hour old!
July 1st, 2016, our adorable Lady Jabron was born. She is a silky and light fawn. Jaina's mom ALWAYS carried 372 days....well people starting saying we should induce......we saw nothing telling us or supporting we should induce. So we chose not to and let mother nature guide us, reason for this story...owners please go with your gut!!!! Our gut was telling us she was not in trouble. On July 1st, day 379 ...Jaina went into labor around 10 a.m., by 12 noon no cria. Still we are witnessing no stress but she is starting to get up and down. Torsion was our thinking, so Lorilee went in and yes she had a torsion, called Dave and his 2 grandsons came over and we rolled Jaina undoing the torsion, followed by the vet showing up. All is good and he said the cria would be here within hours. At 5:30 p.m. our precious Lady Jabron was born at 12 pounds.....up strong and our beautiful maiden, Jaina's milk had come in and she was a statue feeding her new born daughter.
Our story is simple if we had not followed our gut and knowing our dam and induced we could have lost them both. Today December 10th our Lady Jabron is 63 pounds and so stinking adorable!
Where did her name MRAR Mr. Aristotle's Lady Jabron come from....yes you guessed it...I am a huge Cleveland Cavaliers fan (never miss watching a game). Lebron came home and was a fighter, and our little girl was a fighter.
Jaina's bloodline includes Peruvian Accoyo Capitan, PPeruvian Camilio, Northcoast El Accoyo Asante, 4Peruvian Legacy.
Jaina is not for sale but had to share her story!
Mom where we going? Out to pasture little one, I will keep you safe!
Hi my name is Lady Jabron
Meeting Amber at one week old!
Tuesday, April 22, 2014
It was a sunny day with clear skies overhead. Yes, today is the day I will be born, my birthday, June 27, 2013. It is around noon and mom is lying in front of the fan and I start poking around because today is my birthday!
Sir Kody 1 month old.
My mom, Katarina, pushed and pushed and I made myself perfectly straight waiting to get through the opening and then no luck. I could feel something on the other side trying to help, how I knew, because mom just stood there and let them. We would run like wind if we felt threatened or in danger, that is our instinct. They must be looking for me; I was screaming…I am here, please look a little further….all the sudden they got me! Yes I was coming out because today is my birthday!
My little legs were pulled at the same time and yikes out I came! Oh no I could not breath, the lady (Lorilee from Full Tilt) threw me over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes and started clapping on my side, all the sudden, all this wetness came flowing from my mouth…I could breathe! I could breathe!
Now where was my mom? I could hear her calling me but I was so little and tired. I tried to turn around to see where she was, and then all the sudden, I felt her warm nose nudging me; she was calling me, she loved me! I turned around. There was mom, looking down at me with her warm black eyes; my mom is beautiful. Wow, she looks just like me!
I saw my owners standing there, they were laughing and crying at the same time, I am not sure what was so funny but I could tell I must be pretty special. They call me Sir Kody; I was born weighing in at 10.7 pounds, my ears touched each other, but I was out and today is my birthday!!!
Fast forward nine months, I now weigh 74 pounds. My owners’ keep looking at my fleece and I hear them saying “Sir Kody has the potential to a herdsire”, whatever that is, they seem happy so it must be good!! All I know that in 3 months, it will be my birthday and I turn 1 year old! Will you come to my birthday party? Just found out, great news me and my buddy Drake are moving to the Big Apple to be with our new owner Christine. Can you come to New York to be at my party?
Sir Kody is pretty special, Katarina's milk came in but was not enough to take care of Kody, so we have bottle fed him since his birthday. She is a great mom and loves her little boy. Weaning was easy without stress and he continues to grow and has become the farm favorite! He will be missed when him and Drake move to New York in a few weeks.
Update May 30, 2014 Kody and Drake are making their way to New York, congrats Christine!
Thank you for ready Sir Kody's Story!
Sir Kody 5 months old.
