Fern1st gen Saansey FernSaanen/GuernseyDoe (female)White DOB: 5/3/20203 yrs Fern is hands-down the easiest goat I've ever had... Never a moment's trouble in her ENTIRE life. No health issues, never had poor manners, and was trained to the milkstand without any fuss.
Fern definitely takes after her Guernsey papa, being significantly daintier than her powerhouse mama. I was worried that the daintier frame might make her less productive, but as a first freshener this girl produced 7.9 to 8.2 pounds, every SINGLE day until breeding season. Hot or cold, eating alfalfa or timothy or just foraging, it didn't matter. 8 pounds, every day, like clockwork..
And while half of my FFs needed special feed to regain condition after kidding, Fern didn't need a bit of help. Hea...

Timbre1st gen Saansey TimbreSaanen/GuernseyBuck (male)Pale gold DOB: 4/19/20203 yrs Timbre is a hugely appreciated buck from Treasured Sunrise Acres in Parma, Idaho. She was willing to cross a few of her prize Saanen does with wonderful Guernsey bucks to create my next generations of Saanseys.
Timbre is such a handsome boy, and has the classic Guernsey personality. Gentle, quiet, easy to handle, and non-destructive. His daughters are just as kind, and he stamps every single one of them with gorgeous flat wide rumps.
I've been waffling for months about selling him, he is SO sweet and I really enjoy having him around. But with 6 of his progeny in my herd (including a son) and nobody for him to breed this year, it just doesn't make sense to keep him......

Gypsy1st gen Saansey GypsySaanen/GuernseyDoe (female)White DOB: 4/24/20203 yrs Gypsy is such a special girl to me. She was given to me by a dear, dear friend just days after I lost Gypsy's sire. <3
In a barn full of wonderful goats, she has my favorite personality in the herd. She just seems CHEERFUL all the time, and she has a teasing sparkle in her eye that always makes me smile.
She is also such an eye-catching girl. Anytime the goats are eating and I find myself admiring a perfect topline, it's Gypsy's. She has such a strong, level back, blending beautifully into a wide, flat rump. Just gorgeous.
She freshened as a yearling in August '21 with a very pretty udder. She's currently on an extended lactation and I'm very impressed with her consistency. She p...

Nubbie1st gen Saansey NubbieSaanen/GuernseyBuck (male)White DOB: 2/19/20221 yr With one chunky lil scur and a mom named Nugget, we just HAD to go with the silly name for this little man!
I actually sold Nubbie as a baby, but then bought him back a few weeks later, just to breed him to TWO of my does who needed what his dam has. Which is a high, tight, wide and capacious udder that produced over a gallon a day as a 2yo FF!
I can't wait to see what I get when I breed him to Klae (who needs more lateral attachments) and Gypsy (who needs an udder with better teat placement).
The Gypsy cross will also be line-breeding on my gorgeous Saanen buck that I lost, Echo. Gypsy is an Echo daughter and Nubbie is a grandson. And since Echo's dam had PERFECT balance and teat...

Nugget62% Saanen 25% Guernsey 12% LaManchaX NuggetSaanen/GuernseyJr. Doe (female)White DOB: 3/16/20203 yrs Nugget came out just about the tiniest baby I've ever seen... Hence the name. She got an extra season to catch up and is still smaller than my other 2020 yearlings. Between that and her not-quite-Saansey-yet breed percentage, I will be letting her go to a friend of mine after she kids this year. I kept her normal-sized doeling AND buckling last year, because her udder is absolutely magnificent and she produced a steady 8-9lbs per day!
Check out her parents!!...

d-Bravo2nd gen Saansey d-BravoSaanen/GuernseyBuck (male)Gold DOB: 3/18/20221 yr My first home-bred permanent buckling!! I plan to keep this guy for a long time... A handsome polled boy out of my best doe, who could ask for more!

He also has my favorite personality in the buck pen. Very calm, very sweet, always ready for head scratches but never pushy about them. He is an absolute love... ...

Ruth/TiaraBritish Guernsey Ruth/TiaraGuernseyDoe (female)Red Gold GGBoA# DOB: 2/22/20203 yrs Piru Creek Tiara (barn name Ruth) has only been with me for a few days, and already I can't imagine my barn without her. She is so sweet, so calm, so graceful and gentle... Exactly what I expect from a Guernsey.
What is NOT expected from a Guernsey though, is to milk over a gallon a day, but she did that as a first freshener!
Long story alert....
I've been looking to add this bloodline to my herd for well over a year, ever since I heard about a doe in California who produced over 3,000lbs of milk in 305 days! That's solid production for a SAANEN, and absolutely mindblowing for a Guernsey...
I spent several weeks trying to set up to buy a buckling out of that big producer (Piru Cree...

RonanSaanen RonanSaanenBuck (male)White DOB: 5/15/20221 yr Picking up Ronan was a nightmare, but his genetics were so worth it... Until I got him home. The very first time I saw him in daylight I noticed how weird his jaw looked. The fact that he couldn't seem to open his mouth fully, and he chewed SO slowly. I sent a video to my friend and she didn't see it, so I went ahead and bred him to the doe I'd bought JUST to breed him to. But his jaw just kept getting worse and worse. He came to me thin, but he kept losing weight because he could barely eat. His teeth were sticking out all over the place, and if I tried to open his mouth past his normal stopping point he would scream bloody murder. I reached out to Melanie and she responded once and then g...

Klae1st gen Saansey KlaeSaanen/GuernseyDoe (female)Gold DOB: 5/26/20194 yrs Klae has quickly become one of my favorite goats of all time.
It's hard to get the package of good looks, solid milk production, and an affectionate mellow personality all in one... But she has it all in spades, and I could not be more happy with her.
Klae hit the lottery by getting her mama's correct conformation and dairy strength, combined with her sire's eternal gentleness and tranquility.
She is patient when waiting for her grain, steady on the milk stand, and always quietly affectionate. If she thinks I'm taking too long to feed her, she'll catch my eye firmly and then look at her feeder... No fuss, just a reminder that she is hungry and I should hurry up.
Milking her is ...

Jewel II1st gen Saansey Jewel IISaanen/GuernseyKid (female)White DOB: 2/19/20221 yr Another Timbre daughter with a big square rump! He sure stamps his kids... We named her Jewel after her wonderful granddam.
This is a continuation of my oldest and strongest dam-line, starting with Pearl and making beautiful milkers over and over again... Unfortunately my first several years breeding Pearl I didn't have a plan, so I'm having to get her lines bred up to Saansey over time. It's worth it though, because Pearl was a SOLID doe and her progeny have been incredible in my herd.
This one isn't going anywhere <3
I'll be breeding her for the first time in January, to my polled boy Bravo. He is out of my fantastic Klae and has been used heavily this year, both on my goats an...

Charm1st gen Saansey CharmSaanen/GuernseyDoe (female)Gold DOB: 3/16/20212 yrs Charm's aunt, Treasure, was one of my favorite goats of all time. Excellent milk production, perfect teats, large orifices, and a sweet personality. Unfortunately she passed away from a freak case of listeriosis last year, so my best friend said that I could have a daughter out of Treasure's twin sister and my sweet Timbre. Thank you Angel!!
Charm freshened with a picture-perfect udder that's very easy to milk. Her FF production wasn't what I was hoping for (a steady 5lb a day), but she was a yearling and we noticed that she was also growing an incredible amount of bone (her legs are thicker than any of my older girls!) so dried her off early and gave her some more time to grow.
And it...

d-Phoenix1st gen Saansey d-PhoenixSaanen/GuernseyBuck (male)White DOB: 5/5/20221 yr If Violet hadn't given me a lovely buckling out of a very fancy Pearl son, I don't know what I would have done! But Violet came through! And this boy is something else... His rump is soooo big and square, and he has great feet! I just love him.
Phoenix and Bravo will be my new main herd sires, and should enable me to not only breed my own goats for years to come, but also all of the lovely does that I've sold that come back for driveway breeding each year. I'm so happy with him!...

Dancer1st gen Saansey DancerSaanen/GuernseyKid (female)White DOB: 3/5/20221 yr Hard to get a picture of this girl, since she just wants to quietly follow me everywhere... Sweet baby.
Dancer is 3rd generation my breeding. I got her great granddam (a Sable doe) and bred her to my sweet Gunner (Guernsey). Got a very sweet daughter with a very correct udder, but her production was middlin. So I bred HER to a Saanen buck with huge production, and got the much more productive Cadence. Buuuuut Cadence wasn't my definition of a Saansey (being 3/4 Saanen), so I crossed her with my Saansey buck and got Dancer!
It's been a long road to get here, but fingers crossed I get the correct udder, excellent production and mellow personality all rolled into one <3 ...

Ember1st gen Saansey EmberSaanen/GuernseyKid (female)Champagne DOB: 3/18/20221 yr Bombshell, baby....
I really REALLY wanted a buckling out of Aspen and Mercor. But instead I got two of the most beautiful doelings I've ever seen in my life... Ember's color doesn't come through great on camera, but it's an amazing silvery-gold champagne color that I'm obsessed with. And her sister got the splashy multi-color pattern from her Sable background...
Once we pulled the sisters off, Aspen blew our socks off by producing 10lb (5 quarts!) of milk each day... I had resolved to be a Saansey-only herd this year, so Aspen already had a new home lined up. Probably a good thing, or I might have kept her... But I just HAD to keep Ember (and I kept her sister close!), and can't wait ...
