Welcome to Catskill Heritage Livestock
Catskill Heritage Livestock Farm is a small family-owned farm on 56 acres mostly wooded in the NW Catskills region of Sullivan County. Growing up in Minnesota and going to the MN state fair for years I was always attracted most to the livestock barns. It was always a dream to someday be a part of the livestock farming community. Although it took over 30 years to get to where I am at, I am finally living out that dream. I work at the farm with the help of my wife Tin who as a child had chickens in her yard and sometimes in her home. It has also been a lifelong dream of hers to raise and breed healthy happy livestock for friends, family, and private customers.
We believe in low impact regenerative farming practices and therefore have been rotating our livestock into new grazing areas frequently. No herbicides or pesticides are used here. We also believed we should seek out heritage breeds that are less common than commercially available livestock if possible. The Hungarian Mangalitsa, Duroc and Berkshire pigs are our example of this practice.
We both love our place in the Catskills and plan to be here a long time and become contributing business partners in our community.
